Illustrations for a Q and A article with Grant Morrison

This was an exercise in editorial illustration and layout.

The bulk of the interview borrowed from a blog that took excerpts from a Rolling Stone Interview was about "the death of comics" so I used that as the theme.

Beginning at the end. I left out the symbols as it seemed unnecessary.

This one was the most fun to do.

I liked how it worked out. Superman's corpse is one layer of passing.
The second is the worn and faded look, like an old photo or a memory .

The last image I wanted to have something cosmic and ethereal.
The first attempt was just too much.
I'm gonna play around with the second style as I'd never tried it before
and I think it's pretty cool.

A few random pieces.

I'm pretty sure I haven't put these up yet. I'm currently engaged in several college projects and commissions at present so on the one hand I won't have as much cool stuff up as I thought, on the other hand in a week or so I'll have a ton of cool stuff to through on here.

Editorial assignment illustrations for a zodiac column in a magazine. The squares are where the text would go, but I kinda like it as an aesthetic thing.

Johhny cash done in Adobe Illustrator. I was surprised how much I liked the program.
A drawing for the college sketchbook "monsters and aliens".

Choosing the right article.

For one of my more interesting assignments in college, I was tasked with choosing from a number of magazine articles and creating an accompanying illustration. These were the most interesting ones I found..

Apparently I was the only one to choose this article.
